Taxi

Monday May 9

I usually do not take taxis to move around the city, as they are expensive.  In order to take one, I have to decide if the time I will save is worth the money I will spend.  My friends who take cabs everywhere don’t have to worry about this issue.  Once I decide to take a cab, I then have other issues.  Do I have the dog with me?  If so, I need to find a cabbie willing to take dogs.  This can leave me stranded in really hot weather and really rainy weather.  If I don’t have the dog, but I am with Bracha, then I have another issue.  The inner space of a taxi is closed to me, because although I know that I am entitled to pay my fare to get from one place to another, what will the driver think if I hold hands or kiss Bracha?  Will he pull over to the curb and toss us out?  This is yet another semi-public space where I let the emotional space effect my physical space.
